Description - The photo on this postcard could have been taken at ADMIRALTY PIER, Shotley (Suffolk) as it was photographed by a local photographer from Ipswich. Here are 4 "H" class submarines plus an un-identified vessel.

Condition -  A real photographic postcard with a small crease at top left corner.
Information - H48 was a built by William Beardmore of Dalmuir, and was commissioned in 1919. Her weight was 423 tonnes, with a length of 171 feet. She became a training vessel, as seen here with three sister ships. This class of Subs were used by such diverse navies as Canada, USA, Chile, Italy, Russia, and the Royal Navy
