Description - The PRINCE OF WALES visit to the Royal Naval Training Establishment (RNTE) at "HMS GANGES" barracks in Shotley, Suffolk. The Prince later became KING EDWARD VIII (for 10 months) and after his abdication, the DUKE of WINDSOR

Condition - Excellent quality and condition with good corners
Information - This is the shore based training establishment for 16 year old boys entering the Royal Navy. This photo is taken in 1929, a month before these 'Boy 2nd class' recruits pass-out and become 'Boy 1st Class'. They would then do another 9 months  training at the RNTE before leaving for a permanent ship. Another six months training on board ship and they became 'Ordinary Seaman'
