Information - There is surprisingly little information available on the Internet about this little gem. It went into service in 1893 for the Niagara Navigation Company, of Hamilton, Ontario. Its normal work was within the Great Lakes, and the Niagara River. The company was part of the formation group of 11 inland shipping companies which became the Canadian Steamship Lines in 1913. I think that the image for this postcard was taken around 1910, and Chippewa would be in her old livery. I have seen other images of her, but none in these colours.
