Description : Farnoll Pritchard was the designer of this lovely CAST IRON bridge which spans the River Severn near Coalbrookdale, Shropshire - the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. Opened on 1st January, 1781 it took all kinds of traffic until it was closed to motorised vehicles in 1934 and declared to be a Scheduled Ancient Monument.,
