Description - Paris, France - La Grande Roue (The Great Wheel)
Date - 1900 - Built for the Paris Exposition Internationale in 1900, this appears to be a very early photo of the wheel. It was 100 metres diameter, the largest in the world for 90 years. The message on the reverse is dated 1924, although the wheel was scrapped in 1920.

Condition - very good - with only the very slightest sign of wear
Further Information - When it was dismantled, its 40 pods were used for temporary housing in WW1, and afterwards fitted to the carts of rag-and-bone men for their work.
