An 8 cent red USA stamp with an aircraft flying past the Capitol
Building - Cancelled JAMAICA N.Y.5 - AUG 31 1963. The postage was
underpaid, and the card also carries four additional handstamps
reclaiming the 18 cents underpaid. Addressed to Miss Martin,
Rookwood Drive, Longmeadow, Stevenage, England
Excellent - sharp corners with a light impression of the square
green handstamp on the front. Only visible when held to light.
Kennedy was assassinated 22 Nov 1963, and Idlewild was renamed John
F Kennedy International Airport on 24 Dec 1963. I note a Boeing
Stratocruiser and a few Lockheed Constellations on the ground.
