Description : The Armed French Battleship "IENA" see here in her prime, was launched in 1898. She ended her days in 1911, as a pile of scrap in the harbour at Toulon, after a series of massive explosions.

Used : A 5 centimes French stamp cancelled TOULON S(UR) MER 7 -6 04. There is a similar, incomplete stamp, to the right of this. Below this incomplete cancel is another cancel from ROYAN - CHARENTE INFRE dated 8 -6 04. A further destination cancel from ARCACHON, GIRONDE 9 -6 04 at left side. Addressed to Laffitte, Impremerie Calon Vidal, Cours Ste Anne, Arcachon
Condition : Excellent with light wear to the corners - lower right corner has a small crack across the corner, and there is a 2mm tear in the lower margin
