Description : Q.S.M.V DOMINION MONARCH (Quadruple screw motor vessel)  Shaw-Saville & Albion Line. She was a luxury passenger liner (and part freighter) from 1939 to 1962 with the exception of the war years when she was a Troop Carrier. At one stage she earned the nick-name Dominion Maniac due to the frequent fights amonst her crew. She is seen here with the back-drop of Table Mountain, in Capetown, South Africa. For those of you who watch "Midwives" on television, her funnels & superstructure are shown behind the houses in Tilbury on the program's intro. She was scrapped in Japan in 1962
