Further Information -  A rarity amongst bridges of the world, as the total number of Transporter Bridges ever built is only in the low 20's, with about half that surviving today. This one straddles the Port of Marseilles. This card is possibly the first day of opening to the public as there are many people on the gondola and dozens of people climbing the legs on both sides to cross the bridge on foot. Note that the yard in the foreground is full of ladders and planks suggesting again that building work has only just been completed.
