Description : UNIQUE - This beautiful streamline class W1 locomotive number 10000 was designed by Gresley and was Britain's only (Baltic) 4-6-4 tender locomotive . The rear four wheels were set as two pairs. The front pair were fixed rigid to the loco but allowed sideways movement, whilst the rear pair were on a separate trailing axle. Built in 1930, but not the success it was hoped to be, it was rebuilt in 1936 in the A4 style but retained its Baltic wheel arrangement. It was to be called "Pegasus" but never received its name.
