More Info: -  A nice view of a peaceful motorway service area. This was the first such area to be opened on the M6. The photo would have been taken soon after it opened in 1963. It was owned by Forté then, now it is Welcome Break. Those were the days when it was a pleasure to call in at the motorway services. The first section of Motorway in the country was the Preston Bypass on the M6 in 1959.
