Further Information - Opened in 1866, this pier was one of the main centres of attaction to Brighton's visitors, and locals alike. Here is a very busy scene at the Pier entrance. Apart from the numerous people walking around, many are sat in deck-chairs. There is a Model 'T'T Ford at the left, a pony and trap, two invalid bath chairs, and even an old bicycle leaning against the central fence. This is a superb image of the Pier.
