Further Information - Black and white, Valentine's Series photo showing the magnificent Lloyds Bank, on the main road through Altrincham, 9 miles south of Manchester, surely one of the most beautiful bank buildings in the country. Originally built in 1870 for W.C.Brooks of the Bankers Cunliffes Brooks, it was taken over by Lloyds in 1900. Today, the building seems un-changed except for the addition of a modern street light (right in the middle), and a BT box. The railings went for scrap in WWII - It is now a Surveyors office. This must have been possibly the first photo of the Bank under Lloyds name, as it has an un-divided back, which dates it to no later than 1902
